Santa Anita Derby Kicks
off '01 Road Trips
The Santa Anita
Derby is the first KTTC road trip of the year and there's a couple of
ways you can join us in Arcadia for one of racing's premier three-year-old
events.
First, six members
of KTTC and one parent each will earn trips to the SA Derby as winners
of the Essay Competition. Winning trips
include airfare, hotel, transportation and tickets to the races. It's
a blast!
Second, members
are invited to pay their own way to join us in Arcadia on the first
Friday and Saturday of April. You take care of the flight, room and
transportation, let us handle the rest. Learn about racing from the
best in the game and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow KTTC members.
Third, if you are
a local member withiSend Us Your Comments, Ideas & Worknita, you
are invited to join us Friday and/or Saturday April 6, and 7 at the
park. We'll take a stable tour, meet racing stars and attend the races.

Dance, Vance and Aussie
Runners Horsing Around
Laddie Dance and
Jeanne Vance, owners of Lemon Drop Kid, have agreed to have several
of their young horses profiled in KTTC's Horsing
Around section. The profiles will be compiled by KTTC member Amelia
Baldree and begin right now.
Also, Alicia Curtis,
who works as a 'strapper' which is a groom in Australia, has agreed
to report on a few horses she tends to at the track Down Under. This
should be a great opportunity for KTTC members to learn what racing
is like in a foreign country.
To read all these
new features make sure to click visit the Horsing
Around section often.

Livingston Lends Photos
to KTTC
If you notice some
great new photos on the KTTC web site, you can thank Eclipse Award winning
photojournalist Barbara D. Livingston. She generously has provided some
of her great work for use on the KTTC web site.
Also, don't miss
the great photos and articles by Barbara in the December 30, issue of
the Blood Horse. She profiles several retired racing stars including
Our Mims, Genuine Risk, Dahlia and others. KTTC members are too young
to remember these racing stars in their prime, but they were great in
their day and some of them still look pretty good now.
New KTTC Member of the Month is Very Photogenic
He's talented,
friendly and as comfortable in front of the camera as he is behind it.
Check out his photo and story at Member of the
Month in the KTTC web site.

KTTC Members Meet on Board
Join other KTTC
members on a message board created and maintained by KTTC member of
the month for December, Amelia Baldree. It's a great place to exchange
thoughts, poetry, stories, ideas and visions about racing, KTTC and
whatever else you have on your mind.
